2026 Yanan Red Half Marathon（2026延安红色半程马拉松）

Baota Shan, known in ancient times as Jialing Shan, is located south-east of Yan'an in Shaanxi Province, China. The hill is 1,135.5 metres high. The pagoda (Lingshan Temple Pagoda) was first built in the Tang dynasty and the present structure is a Ming building: octagonal in plan, nine storeys, about 44 metres tall, a multi-storey brick pagoda. Since the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and its Red Army entered Yan'an in 1935, Baota Shan has become a symbol of the Chinese Communist revolution, and the image has often appeared in literary and artistic works; the writer He Jingzhi wrote in his work 'Return to Yan'an': 'How many times in dreams I returned to Yan'an, both hands clasping Baota Shan.'

Yan'an is a prefecture-level city in the Shaanbei region of Shaanxi province, China, bordering Shanxi to the east and Gansu to the west. It administers several counties, including Zhidan (formerly Bao'an), which served as the headquarters of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) before the city of Yan'an proper took that role. Yan'an was near the endpoint of the Long March, and became the center of the Chinese Communist Revolution from late 1935 to early 1947. Chinese communists celebrate Yan'an as the birthplace of the revolution. As of 2019, Yan'an has approximately 2,255,700 permanent residents.
