Lujiazhi Island is an inhabited island of the Zhoushan Archipelago at the southern mouth of the Yangtze, located southeast of Zhoushan Main Island and facing it across the Shenjiamen Fishing Port at a distance of 180 metres from the main island. It is under the jurisdiction of Shenjiamen Subdistrict, Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China, and had a resident population of about 18,000 in 2020. The island is roughly bullet-shaped, 2.5 kilometres long and 2.0 kilometres wide, with a total area of 4.36 square kilometres and a land area of 3.2 square kilometres, and a coastline 7.9 kilometres long. The terrain is high in the east and low in the west, with hills mostly in the northeast, the highest peak being Nan'ao Gang at 87.1 metres above sea level. Lujiazhi Island shelters Shenjiamen Port from wind and waves and is an important factor in its development into the largest fishing port in mainland China. From west to east, three cross-sea bridges and tunnels connect Lujiazhi with Zhoushan Main Island: the Lujiazhi Bridge (built in 2006), the Shenjiamen Port undersea tunnel and the Putuo Bay undersea tunnel. It was formerly an industrial base of Shenjiamen, and after 2006 many factories were converted into new-style residential quarters. Most of Lujiazhi Island is now residential, with a little hilly woodland, parkland and shipbuilding and repair industry, and several commercial and tourism sites have been developed, such as the Marine Culture and Creative Industry Park on the north shore, while projects such as a sea island park are still planned or under construction. The Lujiazhi Lighthouse on Duqi Shan in the northeast is a landmark building on the island, and from the lighthouse one can look down on the scenery of the Shenjiamen urban area. The origin of the name is either said to be unknown or said to come from the surname Lu. There are two communities, Ludong Community and Luxi Community, and one administrative village, Lujiazhi Village. Among protected cultural relics is the Lujiazhi Dongnan'ao Tin Hau Temple, on the eastern slope of Nan'ao Gang.<

Xiaogan Mazhi Island is an island in Shenjiamen Subdistrict, Putuo District, Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, China, lying close to shore on the south side of Shenjiamen Fishing Port. Xiaogan Mazhi Island and Lujiazhi together form the seaward barrier of Shenjiamen Fishing Port. The island is 6.5 kilometres long, 1.1 kilometres wide and 4.2 square kilometres in area. Xiaogan Mazhi Island is formed by the linking of three islands, Xiaogan, Mazhi and Dushan. In 1964 Xiaogan Island and Dushan were first joined, and in 2005, after land reclamation, Xiaogan Island and Mazhi Island were joined into one and the island was named Xiaogan Mazhi Island. Since the polder reclamation and linking of Mazhi and Xiaogan Islands, the local economy has developed considerably, and a number of large ship repair and shipbuilding enterprises have since moved onto Xiaogan Mazhi Island. In August 2005 the fishermen's pier on the island was rebuilt, and on 15 January 2006 the Shenjiamen Ferry Company began operating a ferry service between Xiaogan Mazhi Island and Duntou Pier.<
