Xueshi River, also called Xueshi Street River and known as the First Straight River, is a river in Gusu District, Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. It starts in the south at Shuiguan Bridge at Panmen, passes 14 bridges including Xingfu Village Bridge, Shipyard Bridge and North Baihuazhou Bridge, and ends in the north at Gaoqiao on the Zhongshi River in Xizhongshi. It is 3,200 metres long and 5 metres wide.

Hanshan Temple (Chinese: 寒山寺; pinyin: Hánshān Sì; lit. 'Cold Mountain Temple') is a Buddhist temple and monastery in Gusu District of Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. It is located at the town of Fengqiao (lit. Maple Bridge), about 5 kilometers (3.1 mi) west of Suzhou's old city. It was founded as Miaoli Puming Temple (Chinese: 妙利普明寺). Traditionally, Hanshan Temple is believed to have been founded during the Tianjian era (502–519) of the reign of Emperor Wu of Liang, in the Southern and Northern dynasties period. The current name of the monastery derives from Hanshan, the legendary monk and poet. Hanshan and his disciple Shide are said to have come to the monastery during the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang (627–649), where Hanshan became the abbot.

The Confucian Temple of Suzhou (Chinese: 苏州文庙) and also known as the Suzhou Stone Inscription Museum and Suzhou Prefecture School (Chinese: 苏州府学; a state-run school), is a Confucian temple located in the ancient city of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, on the south bank of the Yangtze River. It was built by Fan Zhongyan, a famous state officer of the Song dynasty. It was the first temple school in China and is notable for containing the four greatest steles of the Song dynasty, of on which is the Map of Pingjiang. In 1961, the stone inscriptions in Suzhou Confucian Temple were listed among the first batch of National Key Cultural Relic Protection Units by The State Council of the People's Republic of China. In 2001, together with the Confucian Temple, it was called Suzhou Confucian Temple and Stone inscription. Presently, it is known as new name as Suzhou Stone Inscription Museum.

The Suzhou Prefectural City God Temple was the city god temple of the former Suzhou Prefecture. It lies in the eastern section of Jingde Road in the old city of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, and was built in the third year of the Hongwu era of the Ming dynasty (1370). Its east and west wings once held the Changzhou County City God Temple and the Wu County City God Temple, built in the twenty-third year of the Wanli era of the Ming dynasty (1595). Today only the ceremonial gate, the main hall and some of the historic buildings of the Changzhou County City God Temple on the east side survive.
