2026 Guangzhou Marathon（廣州馬拉松 2026）

Shamian (also romanized as Shameen or Shamin, both from its Cantonese pronunciation) is a sandbank island in the Liwan District of Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. The island's name literally means "sandy surface" in Chinese. The territory was divided into two concessions given to France and the United Kingdom by the Qing government in the 19th century (1859–1943). The island is a gazetted historical area that serves as a tranquil reminder of the colonial European period, with quiet pedestrian avenues flanked by trees and lined by historical buildings in various states of upkeep. The island is the location of several hotels, a youth hostel, restaurants and tourist shops selling curios and souvenirs.

Donghaochong is one of the main creeks of the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River. It rises from Luhu below Baiyun Mountain, enters a covered subterranean channel at Lujing Road, runs via Xiatang West Road to Xiaobei Road, becomes an open channel near Beijiaochang Road, and continues south along Yuexiu Road to empty into the Pearl River beside the Jiangwan Hotel. It has a total length of 4.51 kilometres and a catchment area of 11.1 square kilometres. At present the Donghaochong elevated road is built above Donghaochong to relieve north-south traffic pressure in the centre of Guangzhou.

Hualin Temple (originally Xilai Temple) is located on Xilai Zheng Street, Xiajiu Road, Liwan District, Guangzhou, China, and is a Buddhist temple with a history of more than 1,400 years; it is one of the four great monasteries of Guangzhou (Hualin, Liurong, Guangxiao and Haichuang). Because Bodhidharma was invited by Emperor Wu of Liang to go to Jiankang (present-day Nanjing) and later went to Shaolin Temple on Songshan to face the wall for nine years and spread Chan Buddhism, he is revered as the first patriarch of Chinese Chan, and the area around Xilai Temple is called the First Land of the West's Coming.

The Panyu Confucian Temple is located on the eastern section of Zhongshan Fourth Road in Guangzhou, China, and includes the whole of the present site of the Guangzhou Peasant Movement Institute and part of the south-eastern corner of the Guangzhou Library. Together with the Deqing Confucian Temple and the Jieyang Confucian Temple it is known as one of the three great Confucian temples of Guangdong; together with the Guangfu Confucian Temple and the Nanhai Confucian Temple it is known as one of the three great Confucian temples of Guangzhou. On 4 March 1961 it was declared a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level under the name 'Site of the Guangzhou Peasant Movement Institute'.
