The Feilai Feng carvings are located beside Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Feilai Feng, also known as Lingjiu Feng or Jiuling, is a limestone peak 168 metres above sea level. A small stream separates Feilai Feng from Lingyin Temple, and on the rock faces beside the stream are stone Buddha carvings completed over more than 500 years from the Five Dynasties to the Yuan dynasty, 345 in all. In 1982 it was listed in the second batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.

The 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit was the eleventh G20 leaders' summit. It was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, on 4 and 5 September 2016. It was the first time China hosted a G20 leaders' summit, and the second time such a summit was held in an Asian country, after South Korea hosted the 2010 G20 Seoul Summit.

Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, also known as Xiaoyingzhou, is the largest island in West Lake, Hangzhou. Together with Huxinting and Ruangongdun it is known as one of the three islands of West Lake. It is famous for moon viewing and has the distinctive garden scenery of "an island in the lake and a lake in the island"; the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon scene, centred on the three stone pagodas in the south-west of the island, is one of the Ten Scenes of West Lake. The garden making of Three Pools Mirroring the Moon can be traced back to Shuixin Temple of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period: in the Ming dynasty Nie Xintang built a pond for releasing living creatures and Yang Wanli had Su Shi's stone pagodas moved to the south-west side of the island, and in the Qing dynasty Li Wei and Peng Yulin added further scenery. Three Pools Mirroring the Moon therefore combines the styles of temple gardens, imperial gardens and private gardens, and evolved into its present appearance. It is a traditional venue for moon viewing at the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hangzhou; since the Song dynasty the people of Hangzhou have kept the custom of going to the island to worship the moon and pray for blessings, and in recent years a commercial "moon boat" project has been opened to carry visitors to view the moon.

Solitary Hill is a natural island in West Lake, Hangzhou, surrounded by water on all sides (the Outer West Lake and the North Inner Lake). Since the Bai Causeway was built on its eastern side in the Tang dynasty, linking it eastward to the Broken Bridge and westward to the Xiling Bridge, Solitary Hill has no longer been an isolated island in the lake, hence the saying that "Solitary Hill is not solitary". Solitary Hill is a spur of Qixia Ridge in the northern hills of West Lake, covers 300 mu, and is the largest island in West Lake; at 38 metres above sea level it is the lowest of the West Lake hills.
