Wikipedia →Xiangji Temple in Hangzhou is a Buddhist temple at No. 1 Xiangji Temple, Dadou Road, Gongshu District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It was founded in the third year of the Taiping Xingguo era of the Northern Song (978), when the Ke family gave up their residence as a temple, and was first named Xingfu Temple; it was renamed in the Dazhong Xiangfu period. In former times it was the gathering point for pilgrims to Lingyin and Tianzhu and was known as 'the first incense of the Grand Canal'. The temple site later became the Hangzhou Transport Equipment Factory; today all the buildings except the West Pagoda, built in the Qing dynasty, have been rebuilt since 2009, and the temple was completed and opened to the public in February 2010. It covers an area of 16,855 square metres with a floor area of 13,150 square metres. Along the central axis are in turn the archway, the life-release pond, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of the Great Sage Kinnara (dedicated to the kitchen-protecting bodhisattva 'Great Sage Kinnara'), the Mahavira Hall (dedicated to the three Buddhas of the three periods) and the sutra library, as well as the Guanyin Hall, Manjushri Hall, Samantabhadra Hall, bell and drum towers, Kshitigarbha Hall and Sangharama Hall.<
