Xiamen Zhongshan Park is located in the old urban area of Xiamen in Siming District on Xiamen Island. Construction of Zhongshan Park began in the autumn of 1927 and was completed in 1931. It is the earliest park in Xiamen and has an open, outward-looking character, unlike enclosed traditional Chinese gardens, and is known as the finest garden in South China. The park was planned and designed under the direction of Zhou Xingnan, then adviser to the Xiamen Embankment Works Office, and the architect Lin Rongting, and in its construction the park's natural water system was used for the layout, with buildings dotted among it. After its completion, Zhongshan Park went through the War of Resistance against Japan, the Second Chinese Civil War and the ten years of turmoil, and its buildings, facilities and natural scenery were repeatedly damaged, but after several renovations the park's overall appearance has been preserved to this day, and many cultural relics also survive in the park. The park now covers an area of 11.07 hectares. In 2008 Xiamen Zhongshan Park was listed in the second batch of National Key Parks. In 2012 Zhongshan Park was included in the first batch of the Xiamen park list, and is the only park on that list to be listed at the same time as a comprehensive park (a city-wide park) and a specialised park (a historic famous garden).<

Gulangyu is a small island lying to the south-west of Siming District, Xiamen, Fujian Province, People's Republic of China. It forms the administrative division of Gulangyu Subdistrict, has an area of less than 2 square kilometres (0.77 square miles) and a population of about 20,000. It is known as the 'Garden on the Sea'. No motor vehicles are allowed onto the island apart from the electric vehicles that circle it. In 2005 the magazine China National Geographic ranked Gulangyu first among 'the most beautiful urban districts in China'. In July 2017, at the 41st session of the World Heritage Committee held in Krakow, Poland, it was formally inscribed on the World Heritage List.

Yundang Lake (pronounced Yun Dang Hu) is located in Siming District, Xiamen, Fujian Province, People's Republic of China, and is at present an inland lake with a water surface area of about 1.7 square kilometres. Yundang Lake was originally a natural harbour with a water surface area of 10 square kilometres, and took its present form after repeated reclamation of land from the sea and enclosure of sea areas for farmland. In the lake there is an island called Bailuzhou (Egret Island), on which the city origin point of Xiamen is established.

Nanputuo Temple is a Buddhist temple with a history of more than a thousand years, located below the Five Old Men Peaks in the south-east of Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, facing the bay. In history and scale it ranks second among the Buddhist temples of Xiamen, after the Fantian Chan Temple in Tong'an. It takes its name from being south of Mount Putuo, since it is dedicated to Guanyin, like the Guanyin site on Mount Putuo in Zhejiang. It is a Buddhist temple with considerable influence in southern Fujian and South-East Asia, and is located at 515 Siming South Road, Siming District, Xiamen.
