100 The North Face Guguan Zhan（The North Face 100 谷關站（台灣））

Shaolai Mountain is a mountain in Heping District, Taichung, Taiwan, straddling Zhongkeng and Bo'ai villages. The vegetation of the mountain area consists mainly of broadleaf and coniferous forest, and its highest point is 2,319.3 metres above sea level. It is one of the Small Hundred Mountains of Taiwan and one of the Hundred Famous Mountains of Taiwan. The sources of the Wushikeng River, a tributary of the Da'an River, and of the Dongmao River, a tributary of the Dajia River, lie on its northern and western sides respectively. About 300 metres to its north-west stands a peak 2,307.1 metres high (Peak 2307) bearing the No. 1543 second-class triangulation stone, which is the highest point of Zhongkeng; about 400 metres to its south the 2,298.6-metre South Peak bears a forest triangulation stone. The top of Peak 2307 has been laid out as a rest platform and is the site of the automatic rainfall reporting system installed by the Central Weather Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in the Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area; it also retains a forest fire lookout tower that is no longer in use, from which the ridge line of Yuanzui Mountain and Hengling Mountain to the west can be seen, along with the distant Xinshe river terraces and the Taichung Basin.<

Baxian Shan is located at the boundary between Bo'ai Village, Heping District, Taichung City and Xinsheng Village, Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. It is a south-western spur of the Baigu mountain system of the Xueshan Range and the watershed between the Dajia River and the Wu River. The summit is 2,365.5 metres above sea level and bears a second-order triangulation point, number 1547; it is a famous mid-level mountain of central Taiwan and the first of the Seven Heroes of Guguan. The ridge connects east with Dongbaxian Shan and south with Meiyuan Shan, and faces Tangmadan Shan, Dongmao Shan, Malun Shan and other mountains across the main stream or tributaries of the Dajia River. The whole length of the hiking trail is densely wooded, with poor views; on the other hand, because of its rich forest resources it was formerly the site of the Baxian Shan forestry station, one of the three great forestry stations of Taiwan. Logging has stopped in recent years and the forestry station has been turned into the Baxian Shan National Forest Recreation Area.

Tianlun Dam is a barrage in Taiwan managed by Taiwan Power Company. It is located in Tianlun Village, Heping District, Taichung City, on the middle reaches of the Dajia River near Shangguquan, that is, 2.5 kilometres downstream of the Guguan Power Plant and 10 kilometres downstream of the Guguan Reservoir. Its main function is to divert water from the Dajia River through a tunnel to the Tianlun Power Plant for power generation, and it is the earliest completed dam on the Dajia River. Thirteen kilometres downstream of the Tianlun Power Plant there is the Tianlun Dam afterbay weir, which regulates the tailwater from the Tianlun Power Plant's peak generation. After the Maan Dam was completed and began operating upstream of the Tianlun Dam afterbay weir in 1999, the Tianlun Dam afterbay became the afterbay of the Maan Power Plant.
